my sketchbook - imaginary flowers

Colds suck.  Really.  I have to admit that it's been awhile since I've had one so I've missed that true appreciation for how it travels and lingers and wants to become your compadre forever - and ever.

The only bonus is that you get to put your feet up and slow down.  This is a good time to doodle and draw imaginary things like flowers which have no scientific backup what-so-ever.

I began with a light sketch and vague blobs of colorful watercolor.
Then I went to town with the Micron pens.

I turn to an old friend -  white Designers Gouache from Windsor & Newton.
It's an opaque watercolor that's great for adding white.

I had no scientific terms or philosophical thoughts so I began scribbling something about imaginary flowers and drippy colds.  Seemed to work at the time.

Have a wonderful, creative, non-drippy day.

  5. Oh, Miss Lori! First, I am sorry that you are not feeling well. Kick that cold to the curb, girl! But thank you for showing the process through your amazing pictures. How do you do that? Take pictures while painting? You are a genius! You make the art look so effortless. I can tell it comes bubbling up from within you no matter where you are or what you are doing. Rest up!
    Enjoy the day!
