simple solutions: diy photography backdrop
>> January 15, 2013

How's that for an abrupt ending? Seriously, I thought of this today, had the supplies and had the canvas backdrop up and working within 15 minutes. SO much easier than lugging around my rather large roll of heavy canvas and much more convenient. When I don't need it, I simply store it away in the closet.
Hope you're able to use this simple solution!

Fantastic. I love that you can hang it in your closet so you don't need iron each time you want to use it.
simple solutions are usually the best; great result for little outlay; well done Lori
Thabk you Lori for this great, handy and easy-to-do tip!
Using a pants hanger. You. Are. Genius. Just reading the title and scrolling down to the photos caused one of those classic "Why did -I- never think of this?!" moments. You just made my day.
definitely something that I would love to do very soon! you are a genius :)
Excellent

All I can say is...wow. And thanks.
Bravo! This is a definite "will do"!!!
Thx!!! :o)
... oh
ps... could you tell me how to get more sunshine now?
Clever as heck! I need to get fabric because I've been trying to use these huuuuuge pieces of paper and they get all wrinkled when I lose my mind and crumple them up when they don't lie straight.
(Then again, I guess that WOULD wrinkle paper!) :-)
You know? I've been thinking about fabric alternatives if you don't have access to heavy canvas and I think that HEAVY FELT would work well. It doesn't wrinkle and you can get light shades of felt.
you're so good :)
That is brilliant! I struggle with white background photos. Actually bought a white vinyl canvas from a photo backdrop seller but it is quite large. I might cut it down and use this same trick. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the day. Erin

Wow Lori, great idea, thanks for sharing it, will definitely be trying this!
I love this. . .so simple, so easy! I have one of those pop up photo tents, but sometimes it's just too much for one or two pictures. Thank you for this bit of awesome inspiration. You sure are a smarty!
This is a great post!
I have a version of this that I use that doesn't involve a hanger.
In a pinch, you can tape your fabric to the wall.
But I love the hanger version!
